And here is some of what I offer if you're into that!
Astrology… energetics… cosmic patterns in… human terms?!
You might be wondering how that is possible. Maybe your past experiences of astrology, or ways you’ve heard it spoken about before, make the cosmos feel distant and intangible. A shiny, fascinating thing that exists “out there” – not right here in your reality.
When actually – astrology is quite human and is being expressed through your everyday life, all the time.
Astrology is present when you keep bumping into the same mental block. In the quarterly identity shift and the sudden urge to repaint your living room. It’s in the relationship that’s asking you to trust more. And in the sense that something want’s your attention, but can’t quite place exactly what.
Astrology is not fate or predetermination – it defines potentials, possibilities, and spectrums. It gives you wide lanes that you (via your birth chart) and your chapter of life (via your transits) – lives within. Energetic potentials provide context as to how, what, and why you show up to your life experiences with.
In this way – practical astrology does help you zoom out and tap into spectrum possibility that your humanness naturally operates within.
Which helps you recognize that it’s totally natural for your Leo Sun be joyful and expressive one day – and struggle with confidence and validation the next.
It suddenly makes sense that last weekend was heady and unsettling for you because of the New Moon in Gemini. While perhaps your friend experienced the other end of that spectrum and gained clarity a new writing piece.
That context creates a little space between you and your life circumstances. This space is highly powerful.
It lets you know that nothing is “wrong” with you when you’re emotional during Cancer season, and that you don’t have to beat yourself up for neglecting your self care when your Capricorn Rising had other plans that day.
This distance creates new possibilities for you to relate to – and respond to – your life in a new way.
The most common thing I hear whenever I’m talking astrology with a non-astrologer, is how validating it is. It’s the context that’s doing that, the space it gives you to step outside of yourself and realize that your current experience (while maybe you’d like it to “evolve” in some way) is absolutely normal. I elaborate in this post on how astrology actually strengthens your sense of self trust as a result.
All of these benefits to practical astrology have ripple effects that seem to never end. As a result of that space you’ve created, your astrology also renews your sense of agency. Because if those wide spectrums of possibility and potential exist – you’re not locked into your current energetic expression. You have choice, and tools, for moving yourself into the version of your energetics that would be most fulfilling to you.
Maybe your astrology helps you fully committing to this chapter of “just go for it” expansion while the timing context aligns to it. Or maybe trust your intuition feels more accessible in your day to day, because your astrology illuminated how you’ve been living in alignment without even realizing it.
That agency also looks like specific actions you can take to work with how your energetics are being expressed – by leaning into new behaviors infuse what I call “energetic medicine” into your experience.
This is where the elements (fire, air, earth, and water) come in – which are practical and actionable because they exist right here on earth and are qualities of life that you’re familiar with. The elements also easy to recognize and implement in the moments you’re actually living life:
Maybe you have a lot of fire energy in your chart and are great at taking action, but have trouble slowing down. There are practical ways to release that restlessness (fie) and cultivate more groundedness (earth) or rejuvenation (water).
Or maybe it’s Pisces season and you’re feeling overwhelmed. There are practical actions that create stronger boundaries (earth) around the influx of emotion, intuition, or stimuli (water) so you can access what you actually need in that moment.
If you want to understand how the elements show up in your life specifically, it’s something we always touch on in my astrology readings so you leave with a tangible action or thing to practice in your real life.
These tools are how the context, space, and agency offered by practical astrology – stays with you outside of a reading, and when you’re out in your world, living your life!
Astrology isn’t useful because it answers the questions about what you are and what’s going to happen for you. It’s useful because it gives context that helps you witness your patterns and tendencies – and relate to them both internally, and through action, with more choice.
Notice how we’re not talking about the stars, planets, and vague “energies” …. we’re talking about life.
Astrology is human because it’s about how energy moves through you, and being expressed by you. Astrology is practical because it offers context that translates to how you move through the world, everyday.
Hi friend, you strike me as someone who enjoys thinking about things.
Rooted Evolution is my newsletter for curious humans navigating change, building self-trust, and trying to participate a little more fully in their own lives. I'd love to have you.
Down to Energy explores astrology and energetic awareness as tools for staying in relationship with life as it unfolds rather than trying to explain, predict, or control every part of it. We discuss how we move through change, relate to timing, and navigate real life with greater self-awareness, wholeness, and trust in ourselves along the way.
The Integration Dash is a Notion-based framework for turning insight into actual lived change—because “calling in” a new version of yourself is one thing, but integrating it into your real life is quite another.
Designed around astrology’s holistic lens, the Dash helps you explore how a new intention, identity shift, or realization impacts every area of your life so it can become something you actively live, not just intellectually understand.
